Changelog #36 - July 17th 2021

Accessibility enhancements
By Campus Web Solutions Team |

This month’s release is scheduled to deploy to Production on Saturday, July 17th, 2021 starting at 6am. It is advised to refrain from editing during the update. Please check Tech Alerts to see when the deploy has concluded.

Changes that went into this build include:

Bug Fixes

  • Call to Action (CTA) modal popup window now has a visible “X” close button on the modal. This makes exiting this window easier for both screenreader use and non screenreader use.

  • No longer will there be two chain link icons available in the WYSIWYG editor. WYSIWYG editors will now have one chain link icon that will crawl internal content, have the ability to add classes, ids, and relations, and make decisions on how the link opens, thus combining the elements of both.

Enhancements

  • Upgraded Drupal Core to 8.9.16 (this is in preparation for Drupal 9)

  • Layout Builder options for Basic Pages have been limited to essential options. The categories are streamlined to Auto Blocks, Custom Blocks, Menus, and other lists and views when necessary.

  • The site slogan on the default theme is now a darker color to improve contrast against white background.

  • Links on an Info Card custom block are now underlined by default to satisfy an accessibility issue for changing the style of a link that goes beyond color.

  • Breadcrumbs home icon now has an alt text, “Redirects to the homepage of this site" to satisfy an empty tag issue.

  • Feeds display has been updated with latest brand colors and full date is now displayed. It will look exactly like the Article Preview block.

The next scheduled release is planned for August 14th.
